Welcome to Drawn From The Mire!
This blog is the place where I reflect & meditate on various areas of the Christian walk, God, theology, Scripture I’m studying, the material from books I’m reading, and miscellaneous other things I am pondering or working through. Here I share quotes and material that have impacted me in some way, as well as links to articles I’ve either found helpful or discussed here. I also share my own personal thoughts, commentary and convictions along the way.
I try to approach each topic primarily from the perspective of Christian women (though just about all biblical truths apply equally to men and women alike!). I write as a Christian woman to other Christian women. We’re on this path together. I find it very encouraging to read the journeys of other women in our ranks, and I pray that reading bits of my journey will be encouraging to you.
This blog isn’t a business venture; it’s really just a peek into the overflow of my Christian growth and personal walk. I have found that as I grow in Christ it is helpful to me personally to record what I am learning and/or share it with a friend. Writing is one way I respond to the Lord as I learn from Him, both through His Word and His servants (pastors, etc…). Writing also helps me learn to articulate what God is teaching me and it serves to better lock the lessons into my long-term memory. Over the years I’ve journaled much of what I’ve learned, and having that written record has served as a reminder and reference for me. My hope and prayer in sharing here is that the Lord will use the lessons He has taught me to in turn teach and encourage some of you.
I love to hear from my readers! Your comments are welcome.
