"He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure." Psalm 40:2

Kick in the pants, anyone?

Flipping through my journal today, I came across a kind kick in the pants which I’d recorded for myself last year. It’s a timely reminder as I allow life to so easily nudge me off track so that I neglect my time in the Word. I think I have spiritual ADD. I’m far too easily distracted and deceived into thinking other things seem more important when nothing could possibly be more important than my time with the Lord and knowing His Word. I hope this quote is a motivation to you as well:

“You may read many books and go to many conventions and you may have your all-night prayer meetings…but unless you keep in constant and close association with the one Book, the Bible, you will not have power. And if you ever had power, you will not maintain it except by the daily, earnest, intense study of that Book. Ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are merely playing at Bible study; and therefore ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are mere weaklings, when they might be giants, both in their Christian life and in their service.”

~R.A. Torrey~

If you’re motivated, but you don’t know where to start, a good Bible reading plan would be a good place. 🙂
