Weekend Heart Check
What’s our opinion of God’s Word? Do we love it? Do we read it, use it, search it, memorize it?
Our demeanor towards the Word of God is a reflection of our demeanor towards God himself.
“You can measure a person’s opinion of God by his or her opinion of God’s Word. That’s why a person who loves God loves His Word, and the person who hates God rejects what God has spoken. God’s Word is an extension of Himself – His identity, purposes, affections, and power.”
~ Jonathan Leeman ~~ Psalm 119 ~ ALEPH ~
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
{Psalms 119:1-8}

How we fail in this all important area…
We certainly do. I think it’s good to keep the reminders in front of ourselves and each other — spur one another on. It’s far too easy to fall off course. I suppose the Christian life wouldn’t be called a battle otherwise, though.
Love that quote! It’s going in my common place book 🙂 Thank you for sharing! By the way, will you and your family be at the Keach Conference next month?
Yes, that quote went in my study notebook; I think I need to read it regularly!
YES, we’ll be at the Keach conference! I’m so excited! Will I see you there?
