When life presses

Some weeks fly by so quickly, without even small moments for anything ‘extra’. Crises, events, and urgencies crowd out moments formerly used to jot a thought down. Fringe activities retreat to the background. Like blogging.
Times like these are when the proverbial rubber meets the road – when our true priorities are revealed.
Where do we place God when everything else is so pressing, so urgent?
Where do we seek rest and refreshment when everything else is so challenging, so overwhelming, so busy, so demanding?
We’re fallen creatures. We won’t do life perfectly this side of eternity.
I pray, though, that we who have been so graciously redeemed by the mercy of such a great Savior will make the time to consider these things. That we’ll strive each day to keep our priorities even just a little better than the day before. That we’ll make time on our knees – and pray even while we stand & work – and plead with Christ to help us know Him & love Him better. To help us to serve Him better. To help us to love these people around us better. To wash us by the Truth of His Word. To give us an unquenchable thirst and passion for His Word & His Kingdom.
Even during weeks like these.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
Praise be to God!
