"He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure." Psalm 40:2

Two good reads for your weekend

Wow, has my life been busy! It feels really nice to finally have this opportunity to sit down alone in a quiet house (can you hear my introverted self just giddy with delight??).

I had planned to spend my free afternoon/evening working on a bunch of tasks that are behind, and reading and writing, but the combination of peace and a head cold led me to lie down for a few minutes the afternoon. I guess I needed the rest!

With everything going on, I haven’t had time to keep up on the blogs and such I usually keep up on. Really, I haven’t even had time to read every day, outside of my devotions. I did catch a couple of articles this week that I think are really good, and I have rounded them up to share with you.

The Litmus Test of Genuine Christianity

Just yes. Yes, yes, and yes. If I start quoting or giving commentary this post will get very long very quickly.

Let Them Come Home

The wisdom in this article concerning parenting a prodigal (or non-believing son/daughter) is also largely applicable to our relationships with other non-believers in general. I posted the link to this article on FB earlier this week, and I’ll repeat my comment here that I thank the LORD for the people He placed in my life to love me like this and lead me back to His feet! You will never really know how much you influence the people placed in your life – oh, do yield yourself as an instrument in God’s hands!
