"He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure." Psalm 40:2

Dusting the blog off?

Seasons change. Repeatedly, perpetually. It’s one of those truths that, once accepted, can comfort you as you ride whatever current wave swells toward you (or, you know, crashes over you…).

I think as our family’s season shifts once again I might be able to tentatively dip my toes back into the waters of blogging.

I’m in the process of culling and updating the blog’s recommended resources. If you see repeated changes there in the next couple of months, that is why. I realized I haven’t updated them in years. I’ve been growing, learning, and changing – some blogs I once read and recommended are long gone – and some folks I would have formerly recommended I can no longer recommend. I’ll leave those pages up. Just know that they’re a work in progress.

What else may be in the immediate future on Drawn From the Mire? Lord willing, these three things, amongst others:

~ I’ve spent the last several years doing a lot of Bible study, reading, processing, and private writing about Christian community. I hope to share some of that.

~ I’ve been working on a series about Family Worship (a.k.a. family devotions) from a wife/mother’s perspective and plan to begin posting that soon.

~ Our household has been deeply affected by one family member’s depression and suicidal ideation over the last 14 months. For the last 4 years, we have also experienced numerous trials and suffered greatly in various ways. Without sharing anything private, I’d like to explore some of my observations and lessons learned and to extoll God’s perfect faithfulness through all things.

I intend to post generally once a week, or possibly twice a month.

If any of my former followers are seeing this (HI!!!!!!), what else might you want to read or discuss here? New readers, chime in, too! I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments. 🙂
