"He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure." Psalm 40:2

Prayers for Broken Hearts

My prayers are lifted for the families of those in Newtown, Connecticut tonight. Yes, there are a lot of side issues that could be discussed. But the immediate need is for compassion and love towards the hurting families who lost their precious child or loved one today. Pray for them, brethren. Pray for them.

Pray for comfort for those who are our brothers and sisters in the Lord. That He uses this trial to draw them closer to Him and deeper into His Word.

Pray that God saves the souls of those who are not. That He uses this trial to bring them to saving faith.

Because the Source of strength, the Source of comfort, the Source of hope, and the Source of peace is Christ Jesus alone. And He is what people need.

“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”{Psalm 18:1-2}
